Roar Moe

Roar Moe came to Solund Kommune seventeen years ago, and settled full-time on an island near the old fishing village of Hardbakke (now a triving coastal town). Now, he could not imagine another place to live. Together with his partners and others in the community, he is now working to disseminate the old coastal culture to the younger generations, for example, by showing how fisherman farmers lived in the time before the engine. "There is something about this that it is so different out here, the silence, lifeflow, freedom to live as I like, with my own rules, "says Roar enthusiastically. And with sun and breeze in the face and a view to the sea, islands and mountains, it is with a not hard to understand that some find their dreams.
